My first time shooting at a sporting event ever, it was a neat experience. Craig let me use his 300mm, I've never used that big of a lens before it took a little getting used to, but by the end of the night I felt like I was getting the hang of it. I can tell sports are going to be hard for me, since I am not really a sports enthusiast and half the time have no idea what is going on :)

@Jenny: I appreciate it, this kind of action picture is a whole new world for me.
Though I've been "trained" to know what's going on, I know what you mean, and share your lack of enthusiasm. Still, when seen as another photographic skill acquired, it can't but help develop your eye and your ability to catch the right moment.
